Error 429: too many requests
IndexNow received too many requests and treats them as potential spam. It answers too many requests with a 429 until things calm down.
Common causes
- Many submissions were sent in a short time.
- The same unchanged URLs were submitted repeatedly.
- Another tool sharing our address sent a lot of traffic.
How to fix it
- Wait before you try again. This site pauses submissions for 15 minutes after a 429, and the message says how long is left.
- Send only URLs that are new, changed or deleted.
- Do not resubmit unchanged pages.
